Ingredients

-Ground beef -Sweet Italian sausage -Minced garlic -Marinara sauce -Tomato sauce -Italian seasoning -Dried parsley flakes

Ingredients

-Black pepper -Salt -Ricotta cheese -Mozzarella cheese -Parmesan cheese -Lasagna noodles

Equipment

-5-QT sauce pan -Pasta strainer -Small bowl -9"x13" casserole dish

Step 1

-Add the ground beef and sausage to 5-QT pan -Break up meat and sausage with spatula -Cook till done and drain fat

Step 2

-Add marinara sauce and tomato sauce -Add minced garlic, 2.5 tsp Italian seasoning, black pepper, and parsley

Step 2 (cont)

-Stir well -Slow simmer, covered for 30-mins -After 30-mins, add salt if desired

Step 3

-While sauce is cooking, cook pasta according to package

Step 4

-In small bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup parmesan, 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Step 4 (cont)

-Divide the mixture into 3 equal parts -Doesn't have to be perfect, but try to equally divide

Step 5

-Preheat oven to 350F -In 9x13 casserole dish, spread thin layer of meat sauce to the bottom of the dish

Step 5 (Layer 1)

-Place 3 noodles in the casserole dish -Spread a layer of ricotta on noodles -Spread a layer of meat mixture

Step 6 (Layer 2)

-Repeat with another layer of 3 noodles -Add layer of ricotta cheese -Add layer of meat mixture

Step 7 (Layer 3)

-Add remaining 3 noodles -Add ricotta cheese -Add meat mixture -1 cup mozzarella and  1/4 cup parmesan

Step 8

-Spray sheet of aluminum foil with nonstick spray and cover lasagna with sprayed side down -Bake 30 mins

Step 8 (Cont)

-Remove foil and bake another 10-15 mins or until cheese is browned -Let rest for 10 mins -Cut into 12 squares

Notes

-Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days in refrigerator
