Easy Red Beans and Rice

Ingredients

- 1 lb smoked sausage, slide into 1-inch discs - 2 tbs olive oil - 10-oz bag frozen seasoning blend - 15.5 oz can red beans, undrained

Ingredients

- 16-oz can Blue Runner Creole Cream Style Red Beans - 1 tbs dried parsley - 1 tsp minced garlic - 1 tsp dried basil - 1/4 tsp Cajun seasoning - Cooked rice

Equipment

- Large (5-quart) pot with cover - sharp knife - Cutting board - measuring spoons

Step 1

- Saute sliced sausage in the oil until sausage is slightly browned, about 5 minutes

Step 2

- Add onion, bell pepper, and celery seasoning blend to sausage. - Saute until tinder, about 5 minutes

Step 3

- Add the undrained red beans, creole red beans, and seasonings - Mix well and simmer, covered for 5 minutes

Step 4

- Stir.   - Serve with hot cooked rice

Step 5

- Enjoy!

- Use precooked rice that comes in a pouch to save time - Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge, 3 months in the freezer.
