- Prep time:  5 minutes - Cook time:  20 minutes - Servings:  4 - Calories / serving: 507 kcal

Ingredients

- 1 tbs olive oil - 1 lb ground venison  - 1/2 medium onion diced - 1 lb sliced mushrooms - 2 tbs all-purpose flour - 1 tbs minced garlic - 1 cup beef broth

Ingredients

- 1 cup heavy whipping cream - 1/3 cup sour cream - 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp black pepper - 1 12 oz pack wide egg noodles 

Equipment

- Deep pan or cast iron skillet - Measuring cups - Measuring spoons

Step 1

- Place deep pan or skillet on medium heat and add olive oil. - Add venison and break into small pieces with spatula - Add garlic and onion

Step 2

- Stir and saute until onions are translucent and venison is no longer pink. - Add mushrooms and saute another 5 minutes.

Step 3

- Sprinkle in the flower and stir until fully mixed. - Be sure to break up any lumps that form.

Step 4

- Add beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. - Bring to a simmer. - Turn the heat to low and simmer another 5 minutes.

Step 5

- Remove from the heat, add in the sour cream, and stir well to combine. - Taste for flavor and add more seasoning if desired.

Step 6

- Placed some hot, cooked egg noodles on your plate and top with the best venison stroganoff.

Notes

- This recipe is a great make-ahead recipe for one of those days you don't want to cook dinner.  

Storage

- Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerator. It will be fine in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze in individual portion sizes.
