Quick and Easy Red Beans and Rice with Sausage

Quick and easy red beans and rice are ready to eat in just 20 minutes thanks to time-saving shortcuts! When you use canned creole red beans, there's no need to soak beans.  Another shortcut is using pre-chopped frozen onion, bell pepper, and celery (frozen trinity). Oh yes!  Use your favorite smoked sausage!


– smoked sausage – olive oil – onion, bell pepper, celery  – red beans (canned) – Blue Runner Creole Cream Style Red Beans (canned) – parsley, garlic, basil,  – Cajun seasoning (Tony's) – cooked rice

Follow our easy instructions for success!

Brown the cut sausage in olive oil.


Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery seasoning blend.


Add the undrained red beans (I prefer the pinto beans with bacon), creole cream style red beans, and seasonings.


Mix well and gently simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.


Serve with hot cooked rice. Also serve with French bread or cornbread.
