Instructions
Mix all the ingredients listed above (except salmon) in a medium-sized bowl.
Preheat your grill to medium heat.
Use a brush to apply a thick coating of the BBQ sauce to each salmon fillet. If you have the time, place the salmon in the fridge for 30 minutes to marinate.
Lightly spray a sheet of aluminum foil with non-stick spray and place on the grill grate then add the fillets to the grill. Close the grill cover.
Cook salmon on your grill at medium heat for approximately 12 to 15 minutes. For food safety purposes, make sure you grill the salmon to an internal temperature of 145 F.
Remove the fillets when they flake easily with a fork.
Notes
Alternate Cooking MethodIf it’s cold, rainy, or you don’t have a grill, you can easily use your oven broiler instead.Preheat the broiler on high with the rack in the center position. Place the salmon in a lightly greased baking dish and broil for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. This method works really well; you may even find you prefer broiling to grilling!Leftover SalmonSalmon doesn’t reheat as well as other proteins, so for best results, enjoy leftovers cold. However, you can "warm" the salmon in the microwave on 50% power.Store in the refrigerator (for up to 2 days) and use it later in a fresh salad or grain bowl for an easy second meal.TipIf you’re using a basting brush, avoid ones with loose bristles; they can fall out and end up in your food (no thank you!).A silicone basting brush is a safer, easy-to-clean option.Nutrition InfoThe nutritional information calculated can differ according to the BBQ sauce you use (some BBQ sauces have more sugar, sodium, etc. than others).
