Lemon Garlic Pasta

INGREDIENTS

– Penne pasta (or your favorite) – Heavy cream – Fresh asparagus – Fresh lemon juice and zest – Butter – Sweet peas – Minced garlic – Seasonings

Cook the pasta al dente.

- Add asparagus and sweet peas to the boiling pasta and cook for another 2 minutes. - Reserve 1 cup pasta water. - Drain remaining water from  pot.

- In another pan, saute garlic in butter. - Add cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, and spices. Stir. - Bring to a low, slow simmer.

- Pour cream sauce over the pasta and vegetables. - Stir in a little of the reserved pasta water to achieve a creamy consistency. – Plate the pasta and top with parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper.
